CURE at UGA partners with local high schools to help fundraise for CURE hospitals. This is a great way to get the community involved and further our reach in Athens, and hopefully Georgia! We begin by speaking with student council members who create support and fervor for dances by making their student bodies aware. We also send out letters to the parents letting them know what CURE is and how they can donate.
The most exciting part of our partnership with these local high schools is when we host the Dance For Kids Who Can't (D4K). Our first D4K was at North Hall High School in Gainesville, GA. The fundraising came through ticket sales to enter the dance. With these sales alone we were able to raise $1,200, one more surgery!
This year we got the opportunity to host D4K Dances at North Hall High School and to put on a carnival at Oconee Middle School!
